Broken Roads is a snotfest!
Aldo Russo (Aidan Bristow) is our protagonist and he goes to live with his estranged grandmother upon the death of his mother. At first, he's full of rage. He's so angry that he's anti-social.
Aldo's grandmother, Mrs. Wallace (Sally Kirkland) is forever trying to break through Aldo's walls, just for simple communication and he eventually relents.
As this happens, Aldo falls in love with Madalyn (Shoshana Bush), who helps Mrs. Wallace with gardening and cleaning.
Grandmother dies. By this time, Aldo has completed a high school education and is headed for college. He has also met and befriended a father, for whom he had never known.
As he's saying, "Good bye" to Madalyn, he asks her to come with him and she does.
Ahhh. I nano-second of non-pain.
Aldo: How do you deal with being alone?
Aldo: I build myself up and I tear myself down, all at the same time.
Aldo: I'm going to try to do better.
Aldo: I'm not going to let you do this to me. I can't stand the sight of you. You left me and my Mom and now you want to come back? You're right not to expect anything from me.
Aldo: Me and Mom were really close. We told each other everything.
Aldo: Will you please, just leave?
David: If we were all so well put together, what would we experience in life? You're going to be okay.
David: Well, you're never really alone.
Madalyn: Promise me one thing. You won't forget to remember me?
Mrs. Wallace: Emilia is still dead and he is never going to let that go.
Mrs. Wallace: I just want to understand what happened.
Mrs. Wallace: That's right. I don't know you. I don't pretend to know you.
Mrs. Wallace: will you read to me?
