The New York Daily News is reporting that a wild brawl broke out in Brooklyn, New York early on the morning of Saturday, April 6, 2013, and it ended in a tragic, yet strange, death. A Brooklyn man bled to death after he was knocked to the ground during the fight, sliced his arm on a broken glass bottle and bled to death.
The brawl erupted after Miguel Jiminez and a friend were kicked out of the La Canbana Rodriguez restaurant about 4:00 a.m. on Saturday morning.
The two men were actually arguing over their check from the restaurant and continued to fight outside of the eatery once they were kicked out. Jiminez pulled out a machete and began chasing the other man down the block.
Jiminez dropped the machete as he caught up to his friend and they began fighting on the sidewalk. Jiminez ended up falling to the ground during the brawl and landed on a glass bottle which sliced up his right bicep.
As his friend ran away, Jiminez got up and attempted to chase him down, but he soon collapsed to the ground per sources. Some people that witnessed the fight flagged down a marked police car nearby, but it was a little too late.
“By the time (the police officers) got there, the victim was already lying outside on the sidewalk,” a cop source said.
Jiminez was taken to Kings County Hospital, where he died a short time later. The machete of Jiminez was found at the scene by the police, and the other man was still being sought.
