There's been recent rumors and news regarding Brock Lesnar's return to both UFC and WWE. One of the two seems to be all but confirmed, while the other has just recently been sending the rumor mill into overdrive. It appears that Lesnar is headed back for Vince McMahon's pro wrestling organization, while his status with Dana White's mixed martial arts company is up in the air.
A report via Inquisitr on Dec. 27 notes that it's expected that Brock Lesnar will return after the 2014 Royal Rumble. Also, there's been early rumors that Brock will go on to be The Undertaker's latest opponent for WrestleMania 30 in April 2014. Undertaker is currently riding that impressive undefeated streak, so it would be yet another opponent to put on his career resume, that is unless Brock actually gets the win.
As for Lesnar returning to UFC, there had been rumors that UFC president Dana White was meeting with Lesnar in Las Vegas. Vegas is the site of the latest MMA pay-per-view, UFC 168, which will feature Anderson "Spider" Silva versus Chris Weidman for the Middleweight title. When asked about meeting with Lesnar in Vegas, Dana White was either playing it off, or totally surprised at the rumor, as he told media:
"Really? I don't know. I honestly don't know. Honestly."
The irony in all of this is that Lesnar previously crossed Undertaker's path at a UFC event and the two had words between them. Taker has been an active fan of Ultimate Fighting, but never a participant, while Lesnar is a former UFC champion. The last match Brock participated in for WWE had him SummerSlam 2013 pay-per-view in a No Disqualification match against CM Punk, which he won. Since returning to WWE, the only match Lesnar has lost has been to John Cena, also a No Disqualification match.
As of this report, there's no official matches set for WrestleMania 30, which takes place April 6, 2014 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana. However, there has been recent confirmation that Dave "The Animal" Batista is returning to WWE in January ahead of the 2014 Royal Rumble, leading some fans to wonder if he might appear as part of WrestleMania's main matches.
