Broadway Star to host Skyline Theatre Company’s Concert of Stars Friday

Broadway Star Michele McConnell, currently starring in the Broadway production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Phantom of the Opera, will host Skyline Theatre Company’s Concert of Stars: Celebrating the Music of Broadway’s Jewish Legends on Friday, February 28, 2014, at 7:00 pm at the George Frey Center for Arts and Recreation in Fair Lawn.

Ms. McConnell has been performing in the Broadway cast of Phantom of the Opera since February, 2010, and performing the starring role of Carlotta since July, 2011. Ms. McConnell, who will also perform in the concert of Broadway singers, has been president of the Skyline Board of Trustees since 2012. Originally from Indianapolis, she has lived in northern New Jersey for almost 18 years. She is a graduate of Butler University with a Music Education degree and minors in Speech, Communication and Theatre. Ms. McConnell’s performance resume includes musical theatre, opera, concert performance, cabaret, professional chorus, and touring productions. She has traveled to over 115 countries performing on luxury cruise ships and is a proud member of the Actors’ Equity Association. In addition to her performance credits, she is an adjunct faculty member in the Musical Theatre department at New Jersey City University.

Guests will enjoy an intimate concert by Broadway’s finest as they celebrate the music of Gershwin, Sondheim, Kern, Berlin, Strouse, Shaiman and more. Performers from Phantom of the Opera, Mary Poppins and Wicked are scheduled to perform at this year’s event. Tickets are $75 and are completely tax deductible. The ticket price includes a cocktail hour including hors d’oeuvres, wine and desserts, raffle baskets, a silent auction of NY Giants tickets and this one of kind concert. Skyline, Bergen County’s professional theatre company, has been in residence at the Frey Center in Fair Lawn since 2010.
