Broadway's 'Motown' star N'Kenge headlines Fort Lauderdale Children's Gala

Broadway Global leaks the surprise guest artists just announced today that "Motown" star N'Kenge will headline at Fort Lauderdale Children's Grande Crystal Ball 'In Wonderland' on February 22, 2014. Fort Lauderdale Children’s Theatre celebrate decades of theatre magic at this VIP annual gala. The Grande Crystal Ball "In Wonderland" has a big surprise for Alice and FLCT supporters.

The Grande Crystal Ball "In Wonderland" begins with the “Drink Me!” cocktail reception and fabulous silent auction, complete with Wonderland favorites. N'Kenge is currently appearing as Mary Wells in Broadway Global's musical of the year "Motown". N’Kenge has guest starred at at Birdland in both the Adele and Billy Joel Pop Show Series. She made her Broadway debut in "Sondheim on Sondheim", West End debut in "The Genius of Ray Charles". N'kenge's Opera appearances include Verismo Opera, Virgina Opera, Israel Opera and New York City Opera, solo concert appearances at Carnegie Hall and Kennedy Center. N'Kenge was vocally trained at The Juilliard School and Manhattan School of Music. "While Broadway stars get a short vacation, N'Kenge is taking that special time away from "Motown" to headline at Fort Lauderdale Children’s Theatre Grande Crystal Ball "In Wonderland". Since 1952, Fort Lauderdale Children’s Theatre changed and enhanced lives through stage productions, quality classroom instruction and confidence-building summer camps. Additionally, the Theatre has consistently delivered outreach programming for under-served populations that includes: anti-bullying/conflict resolution for at-risk students, literacy programming through drama, and arts expression programming for people with terminal illness, among others. Funds generated by The Grande Crystal Ball allow the Theatre to continue these programs while also offering scholarships to deserving children who otherwise would not be able to attend classes or summer camps.
