While Brittany Murphy's cause of death remains in limbio until toxicology reports return, Hollywood producer Scott Chambers said the actress looked "ill" and "underweight" during filming this summer.

"She looked ill, as much as 10 pounds underweight," producer Chambers told the Los Angeles Times. "And she’s a small person to begin with.

Chambers was working with Murphy on what would be her final film, a psychological thriller called Abandon.

“She easily could have made an excuse not to come to work, but she didn’t. She said, ‘I’ve got to get better, but I want to do this part,'" he added.

Conversely, other people close to the star, like designer friend Tiffany Saidnia has said Brittany was in good health saying, "there was nothing wrong with her".

The two stories in contrast may have been enough for the LA County Coroner and the LAPD to press forward with an investigation, but the Coroner Ed Winter said there were definitely "other reasons" they were taking into consideration.

Leaked reports from the investigation reported a nightstand full of prescription drugs (see the list of drugs here) and husband Simon Monjack had asked the body not be autopsied, further raising questions.

“She was on herbal remedies, that wouldn’t speed up her heart," Monjack told The Daily Star in a past interivew. "There was nothing here that could endanger her, there was prescription medication in the house for her ‘female time’ and some cough syrup.
