On Saturday TMZ reported that late film star and television voice actor Brittany Murphy may have ingested 109 Vicodin pills in the weeks leading up to her death. Now, husband Simon Monjack would like you to know that the report couldn't be further from the truth.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Radar Online, Monjack claims that the pills were actually prescribed to Brittany's mother Sharon, who is currently battling off cancer. The late star's husband also blasted reports that the Los Angeles County Coroner was still looking for the doctor behind the prescription:

“Dr. Cohen prescribed the pills to Sharon Murphy.  Dr. Cohen has never prescribed anything to Brittany.  He’s never, ever seen Brittany...This false story is triggering her neuropathy more and it's damaging...It’s hard enough to lose a daughter but then to have this story…makes it even harder."

The "did she or didn't she?" question with Vicodin is yet another mystery regarding the death of Brittany Murphy. Monjack has taken criticism from many Hollywood celebrities, but he insists that it was the pressures of working in such a business that led directly to her death in December.

Do you believe Simon Monjack's claim here about the Vicodin pills? Let me know your thoughts with a comment and stay tuned for more of the latest news.
