Spears is sued for running over a paparazzi's foot.
Britney Spears might have just spent a quarter of a million dollars... on a foot.
During the beginning of her very public meltdown, pop star Britney Spears ran over the foot of a paparazzi cameraman who was taking pictures of the star as she was driving.
In 2007, Spears was pulling out of a medical office building and inadvertently ran over the foot of Ricardo Mendoza, a former TMZ paparazzo.
At the time, Mendoza said that he would not sue. Now, he is suing her for $221,533.59. He claims his medical bills were over $16,533.59, needs $195,000 in general damages and wants another $10,000 for any future problems he may have with his foot.
Spears has become one of the most-followed celebrities in the world. According to sources close to the singer, the massive paparazzi coverage of Spears has been blamed as the major factor that lead to the star's mental breakdown and subsequent hospitalization in 2008.
