Britney Spears: ‘X Factor’ and fiancé splits come true, may hit jackpot in Vegas (Video)

Britney Spears rumors that she was being dumped by both “The X Factor” and her fiancé Jason Trawick popped up a month ago. Now both have come true, with Britney first announcing last week that she would not return to the reality talent competition show on Fox next season. Then on Friday, Spears broke the news that she and fiancé Jason Trawick had amicably split. Fox News is reporting today that the reason behind their breakup was too much stress on Jason, who basically had to act like a parent to the 31 year-old singer. But no one should really shed a tear for poor Britney Spears, as news is breaking that she’s close to signing a huge deal in Las Vegas worth over $100 million.

When the rumors started flying that Britney Spears and her fiancé Jason Trawick were going to breakup last month, the speculation was that they’d wait until after her “X Factor” show wrapped up, to save her the embarrassment, as well as the holidays to pass perhaps to spare her young kids.

But now the ax has dropped on the couple’s relationship, both personal and business. Trawick was named as co-conservator along with father Jamie Spears, but in light of the split he’s already resigned that position, and the dissolution is said to be in the hands of the courts “at this moment”, according to Fox.

TMZ reports that it’s been finalized and Jason is no longer in legally in charge of Britney’s affairs. The couple got engaged back in 2011. Trawick started out as Britney's agent, then the duo started dating.

The split has really been in motion for awhile. Jason has been very stressed and concerned for Britney and afraid of how she might handle the breakup emotionally, given her past problems, an insider told FOX411's Pop Tarts column.

“He is worried about her and really loved her, but it started to take a real toll on him. The burden of taking care instead of a partnership where she also takes care”, the source said.

Britney Spears infamously melted down back in 2007 in front of the entire world. The pop princess shaved her head, was photographed partying panty-less, beating paparazzi with an umbrella and eventually landed in a psychiatric hold at a Los Angeles hospital.

The emotional collapse prompted Spears' father Jamie to get a court ordered conservatorship over her, which she remains under. In April of 2012 Trawick was added as co-conservator. However, it appears that taking on such a responsibility over a romantic partner proved fatal to their relationship.

Psychotherapist Stacy Kaiser explains, “Jason took on the role of 'parent' and Britney the role of 'child' when he agreed to conservatorship. This makes an uneven balance of power, typically kills intimacy and creates a dynamic of conflict in the relationship”.

A statement from Britney Spears confirming the breakup on Friday noted it was a mutual decision. “Jason and I have decided to call off our engagement. I'll always adore him and we will remain great friends”, Spears said. Trawick added that he will, “love and cherish her and her boys and we will be close forever”.

Of course there’s always the cynics, who maintain that the couple’s relationship might have been more business than pleasure to begin with. But it is clear Jason cares deeply about his former partner and client.

However, sad as the news is, it’s also an indication of change. And one needn’t shed too big a tear for Brit, since she’s reportedly in talks for a huge Las Vegas payday. Spears has been negotiating with one of the Caesar group properties to appear in a “Celine Dion-type” show.

According to TMZ, Britney’s team has just about locked up an “enormously lucrative deal”. A source connected to the deal says, “The deal is a go. There are several stipulations that could throw a monkey wrench in the deal, but it's basically done”.

The sources went on to say the salary being negotiated is "astronomical", at more than Celine's $100 million per year. Just last month Britney Spears narrowly bested Taylor Swift in being named music’s top female earner for 2012, with $58 million.
