Britney Spears opened her Las Vegas show on Friday night (Dec. 27). In attendance were quite a few celebrities, with many of them sitting right in the front row. According to a report from Saturday (Dec. 28), the guest list included Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, Kellen Lutz, and Adam Lambert. Most were right in the front of the 4,600 attendees to opening night.
The theme of the Friday night show was "New Year's Eve" and it was clocked at 79 minutes in length. It included most of her top hits, including “Toxic,” “Oops I Did It Again,” “Slave 4 U," and “Baby One More Time.” The report noted that there were no snakes or school uniforms in the show that had made the videos of her songs such hits when they were released. It ended with "Till the World Ends," but there was no encore for the show.
The beginning of the Las Vegas Britney Spears show comes during the same month when her new album was released. "Britney Jean" came out earlier in December, but hasn't really achieved the sales level that she has grown accustomed to seeing. That probably won't keep audiences from showing up to see her in Vegas, though, especially with the plan to stagger the shows throughout the year. 48 will be performed in 2014, with Spears earning a cool $310,000 per night.
