Britney Spears’ highly anticipated debut single off her upcoming eighth studio album (due out sometime late this year) hit the airwaves yesterday and was met with celebratory praise from both fans and critics alike.
Spears song hit iTunes at 12:01 a.m. EST this morning (Monday, Sept. 16) and has hit #1 in more than 30 counties.
Spears is currently holding steady at #4 on the US iTunes chart, behind Katy Perry’s powerhouse single ‘Roar’ at #2 and Miley Cyrus’ song ‘Wrecking Ball’ at #1. Just ahead of Spears in the #3 spot is ‘Royals’ by Lorde.
Spears is scheduled to appear on Good Morning America tomorrow morning, Tuesday, Sept. 18.
Rumors are that she’ll be performing live from a desert outside of Las Vegas to announce her upcoming Vegas residency. Fans speculate she will also announce the title and release date of her upcoming album.
