The Spears, Trawick split has been confirmed by the former couple's representatives. On the very same day that Spears announced she was leaving the "X-Factor" to focus on her music, the pop princess and her "Criminal" co-star released a joint statement assuring fans that their split is amicable. From a Jan. 11, 2013 report by People,
"Jason and I have decided to call off our engagement. I'll always adore him and we will remain great friends." ~Britney Spears
"As this chapter ends for us a new one begins. I love and cherish her and her boys and we will be close forever." ~Jason Trawick
Is the timing of the Spears, Trawick split and her "X-Factor" departure a coincidence? It doesn't look that way. In December 2012, Examiner.com reported:
"The latest Britney split rumors also claim that Jason Trawick is timing the breakup to coincide with the end of the 'X-Factor' because he doesn't want the bad news to interfere with her work. After all, he is still her manager and reportedly wants to continue to manage her career even after they breakup. It is important to note that Trawick has neither commented nor confirmed the rumors, and the couple is still going strong and planning a vacation together."
According to TMZ, Jason didn't want to announce the Spears, Trawick split until he was taken off her conservatorship. That happened this afternoon at approximately 4 p.m. PST. Trawick's influence was largely credited for Spears turning her life around and reviving her career after the damage done following her marriage to Kevin Federline. Hopefully she will continue to thrive in his absence.
