The Westboro Baptist Church is blaming the fire in Brazil on gay marriage. WBCSays, the official Twitter account for the group, tweeted Jan. 27 that God saw gay marriage in Brazil and required hundreds of souls as punishment in an “earth-judgment inferno.” The message also remarked that it’s even hotter in hell.
On the other hand, Britney Spears tweeted today that the news of the fire in Brazil has saddened her. Spears said her love and prayers are going out to the people of Santa Maria.
Over 200 people were killed in the nightclub fire on Sunday. Over 100 more people were injured. Most of the victims were university students.
Do you think the Westboro Baptist Church should be more like Britney and offer condolences to those impacted by the fire in Brazil instead of telling them they deserved it? (And did you ever think we’d want someone to be more like Britney Spears?)
