Britney Spears' reveal for 'Work' in Vegas a surprise?

Britney Spears plans to announce her 2-year residency at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino.

She’s been working out and working up to the big announcement. But is anyone really shocked at the news? Not exactly, more like thrilled.

The plethora of paparazzi shots of Britney Spears that are floating around the net as she enters and exits the studio this past month wearing tiny shorts and tight tops are rumored to be for one reason, the finally official announcement of her residency in Las Vegas. We’ll all know more about that Tuesday, apparently.

The big news that’s circulated tirelessly online since early summer will allegedly be made public September 17 by Spears herself to put the official stamp on her much-discussed (by the media, anyway) secret plans to have a residency at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas.

Late last week, the 31-year-old showed off her toned and tanned form in social media selfies. Last Sunday she posted a particularly cheeky shot of herself wearing a jewel-toned two piece teeny bikini paired with chunky, shiny silver heels and a big smile on Instagram.

“Gonna get my tan on in the desert between shots on the #WorkB***(*),” she tweeted about her work day on the video for her next single.

It was a much better pic than the shots taken by paps earlier in the week showing a bit of cellulite on the mother-of-two’s derriere area as she waltzed into the studio for her latest music video.

This official announcement coincides with the release of “Work B***h” that will premiere tomorrow at 6 p.m. EST.

Yesterday she tweeted: “Almost there tweeps….Who's ready to get to #WORKBxxCH on Monday?!”

The two-year stint at Planet Hollywood will more than likely be worked along the lines of residencies by Elton John and Celine Dion over at Caesars Palace, where they come in for a few weeks at a time. Fans and critics are curious about the details of Ms. Spears’ long run at PH, and if she’ll consistently bring her best to the stage for what is sure to be an exciting production show. No word on whether acrobats or artists formerly from Cirque will be in on the choreography.
