Sources say that Britney Spears has been fired from "The X Factor" U.S. judge (but her "X Factor" exit hasn't been officially announced yet), and now comes a report that she wants to fire her fiancé Jason Trawick as her co-conservator. According a Radar Online report published on January 11, 2013, 41-year-old Trawick and 31-year-old Spears have been arguing a lot, they're sleeping in separate beds, their wedding will never happen, and Spears thinks that Trawick being her co-conservator is ruining their love life.
Trawick (who is Spears' former agent) and Spears began dating in 2009, and they got engaged in December 2011. Because of Spears' psychiatric problems, in 2008, she was placed under a conservatorship headed by her father. In April 2012, Trawick became her co-conservator for her personal affairs, while her father remained the conservator for her business affairs.
Even though Trawick is officially no longer Spears' agent, he reportedly led the negotiations for Spears to become a judge on "The X Factor," and he was one of the people pushing for her to take the "X Factor" job, which paid Spears a reported $15 million in 2012. Radar Online reported that Spears had to get special permission from a conservatorship judge to take "The X Factor" job because of questions about whether or not she was mentally fit for this type of work. It is widely believed that Trawick became her co-conservator so he could have more legal and financial control over Spears' life.
An unnamed source told Radar Online: "The relationship has been more than slightly rocky in the past few months and Brit attributes that to having her man essentially being one of her babysitters. It has killed the romance in the relationship, and she wants to get it back. Jason is co-conservator of Spears as a person, meaning he controls who she sees, where she goes, etc. Her father has had that role since the conservatorship was appointed, and she thinks it should only be him, and not Jason anymore. Jason is in full agreement and supports her decision.
“Britney and Jason had planned to get married at the end of December, but they have been fighting non-stop, so the wedding has now been called off. They are telling their friends it’s being postponed, but they will probably never make it down the aisle. Britney doesn’t think Jason is any fun and resents him because he acts more like a second father than a romantic partner, or equal.
“Britney and Jason have been sleeping in separate bedrooms for a very long time. She has been staying in a hotel during the week because of the live X Factor shows, and although Jason stays at the same hotel, he is in a room adjacent to hers. Jason feels like he is Britney’s babysitter, and it’s pretty much just a business arrangement at this point. Jason does love Britney and the boys, but he just can’t see himself spending the rest of his life with her.
"Jason has been talking it over with Jamie and Lynne Spears, and he just wants to get his and Britney’s relationship back on track. He doesn’t want to be her babysitter, he just wants to be her fiance. There are steps that have to be taken legally that first for the judge to sign off on it. It will happen though.”
The Spears/Trawick relationship has been the subject of a lot of gossip, some of it true and some of it false. Tabloids and various blogs reported conflicting stories that Spears and Trawick were either breaking up or getting married in 2012. (The breakup or wedding didn't happen that year.) Spears and Trawick have not publicly announced what their wedding plans are.
Spears has been married twice. Her quickie 2004 marriage to childhood friend Jason Alexander was annulled two days after the ceremony. She has two sons with second ex-husband Kevin Federline, whom she was married to from 2004 to 2007. She and Federline had a bitter custody battle over their children. She lost custody of the kids to Federline in 2007, but she has visitation rights
Representatives for Spears denied tabloid stories that Trawick has been physically abusive and unfaithful to Spears.
Another rumor that spread about the couple is that Trawick would be dumping Spears in early 2013 but will still want to be her co-conservator. We'll have to wait and see if that "early 2013 breakup" rumor ends up being true.
For now, "The X Factor" U.S. and Spears have parted ways. It will be interesting to how the official announcement will be worded. Spears' camp has apparently tried to do damage control because an unidentified person told tabloid website TMZ that Spears was quitting "The X Factor" to focus on her next album and possible tour.
So far, "The X Factor" U.S., Spears and her representatives aren't commenting on whether or not she will still be a judge on the show in 2013.
UPDATE: Spears has not only announced that she is leaving "The X Factor" but also that she and Trawick have split up. Click here for more details.
