Singer Britney Spears has quit FOX's "The X Factor" after just one season. The pop star judge's reasoning behind the decision was because she knew she wouldn't be asked back for next season. That's always the best way to avoid being fired.
A report from TMZ.com on Thursday, Jan. 10 indicates that Spears wants to return to focusing on what she enjoys most: making music. The singer behind hits like "Slave 4 U" and "Hit Me Baby One More Time," will be in the studio working with producers Hit Boy and will.i.am on her 8th album. There's also talk that she may go on another tour once the new album is finished.
Britney Spears reportedly "loves Simon" and "likes Demi Lovato," a source told TMZ, but "her thing is music." She apparently really loves music, because she's leaving behind the $15 million she was given to be on the "X Factor" show.
That now makes for two judges who have left the show ahead of its new season. Previously, L.A. Reid decided to leave as a judge on the show due to wanting to get more involved in his music company. That leaves Simon Cowell and Demi Lovato to find two more judges to join the show, that is, if Demi decides to stick around!
"The X Factor" will begin its new season in September. The show can be seen locally via FOX affiliate station WFXR 8 on Roanoke's Cox Cable.
