Oops, she did it again!
On the heels of her "difficult decision" to vacate her slot as judge on "X Factor," pop star Britney Spears has also decided to part ways with her fiance, Jason Trawick.
The split didn't appear to cause either party to "Scream and Shout," as both parties released statements on Jan. 11 to E! News detailing their plan to remain tight-knit as friends.
"'Jason and I have decided to call off our engagement,' Spears said in a statement. 'I'll always adore him and we will remain great friends.'
Added Trawick: 'As this chapter ends for us a new one begins. I love and cherish her and her boys and we will be close forever.'"
The couple had been engaged for just over a year after beginning their courtship in 2009.
Back in September, "X Factor" patriarch, Simon Cowell, offered to pay for Spears' nuptials with the stipulation that the ceremony be performed live on the show.
Well, so much for that! At least Cowell has new pseudo-girlfriend Carmen Electra to comfort him over the loss of his bubbly blonde co-judge.
