Britney Spears, Jason Trawick Split: Couple 'Grew Apart', Plan to 'Remain Friends'
Besides ending her long-term relationship, Spears has recently confirmed her decision not to return for another season as a judge on "The X Factor". Spears reportedly walked away from the $15-million deal with "X Factor" in order to better focus on recording new music and consider touring following her new album's release.
Britney Spears, 31, began dating her former manager Jason Trawick, 40, back in 2009, and the two were engaged in December 2011. This week, Britney Spears released a statement through her rep that read, in part, "Jason and I have decided to call off our engagement. I'll always adore him and we will remain great friends."
Later in the official statement confirming the Spears Trawick split, Jason Trawick chimed in, "I love and cherish her and her boys and we will be close forever." According to sources close to the couple, the break-up was "friendly" and came as a result of simply "growing apart".
Trawick had been named co-conservator of Spears' estate, joining Spears' father, Jaime Spears, on the official documents, but has removed his name from the case in relation to the split. Jaime Spears is now the sole conservator of his daughter's fortunes.
