Britney Spears grocery list goes viral: Healthy swaps for her unhealthy choices

Oops, she did it again. Britney Spears isn't known for making the healthiest choices in her life, and it appears that her food choices fall into the unhealthy category. Documenting a recent trip to the grocery store, TMZ revealed what Britney purchased, reported the Inquistr on Feb. 19. The list reads like a "what not to eat" book. But the good news for Britney: With just a few simple swaps, she can shift from processed foods to whole, natural choices. Here's the dish:

  • Ginger ale: Sugar and artificial ingredients don't belong in your body. Swap it for unsweetened, sodium-free sparkling water, such as Natural TalkingRain Sparkling Water.
  • Ham: High in fat and sodium, ham is like the spam in your Inbox - dump it. Replace it with a vegan version of ham or hot dogs, such as vegan Loma Linda Linketts.
  • Lunchables: When it comes to nutrition for kids, this product should be called "Laughables." Take the Lunchable with Extra Cheesy Pizza, for example, which contains a "fruit" drink made with high fructose corn syrup, pizza heavy on the fake cheese and white flour and "artificially flavored" candies. Need we say more? Make mini pizzas with whole grain English muffins, cut in half and topped with low-fat string cheese and Muir Glen Organic Pizza Sauce. Pop into the microwave until the cheese bubbles. Serve with steamed green beans and cut-up apples sprinkled with cinnamon for a healthy lunch that the entire family can enjoy.
