If you're checking the best-dressed list of celebrities walking the red carpet at the 2013 Academy Awards, one of the last names you'd probably expect to see is Britney Spears.
After all, the singer and paparazzi magnet is more frequently photographed in some version of cutoffs and Uggs (and who can forget the time she went bald?)
Still, it was a more sophisticated Britney debuting a fresh new brunette hairstyle at the Oscars, while walking the red carpet in a black sequined gown from Michael Cinco Couture.
The soft mocha hair color was both fresh and dramatic, and took years off Britney's appearance. It also paired perfectly with the glamorous, old-Hollywood vibe of her dress.
