Britney Spears' ex-fiancé, Jason Trawick, has started a strict weight-loss regimen after being fat-shamed by TMZ.

The once-fit Jason vowed to lose all the excess weight (which appears to be at least 35 pounds) within a month. That will no doubt require a very strict diet and rigorous exercise.

"Thanks @tmz I needed this," Trawick tweeted Jan. 20. "Started my diet/workout program today. C u in a month!"

Jason posted a photo of his rounded belly along with a screenshot of TMZ's fat-shaming post earlier that day.

Trawick, a Hollywood agent, began dating Spears in 2009. Shortly afterward, Jason, who had been slightly chubby, slimmed down and gained rippling abs after working out with Spears, who exercises daily.

Apparently, getting dumped by the pop princess is hazardous for men's waistlines: Her former husband, Kevin Federline, gained over 50 pounds shortly after he and Britney divorced in 2006.

Federline, who's now in great shape after losing all the weight, revealed in 2010 that his weight gain was due to stress and depression.

"Once you get depressed, you don't really feel like doing anything," said Kevin. "You're kind of discouraged about yourself and then the weight gain too. That makes me more depressed."

Meanwhile, Britney recently started her two-year, 98-show Las Vegas residency. Spears said she did the hardest workouts of her life preparing for her Vegas revue and recently slammed rumors that her chiseled abs were painted-on.

Spears credits a low-carb diet and rigorous cardio, strength-training and yoga workouts for her fit physique. "These intense workouts have really been excruciating," she said. "It's probably the hardest workout I've ever done in my life, getting ready for this show."
