Britney Spears has confirmed she's not returning to The "X Factor" next season according to www.Entertainmentwise.com. This will make her the second judge this season to leave since L.A. Reid announced last month that he would not return to the show.
"I've made the very difficult decision not to return for another season," Spears said in a statement. "I had an incredible time doing the show and I love the other judges and I am so proud of my teens, but it's time for me to get back in the studio.
"Watching them all do their thing up on that stage every week made me miss performing so much," she added. "I can't wait to get back out there and do what I love most."
Spears will be the fifth judge to leave the show since it started in the USA in 2011. Paula Abdul and Nicole left the show after the first season. Cheryl Cole left during the audition rounds of the show during the first season.
This announcement currently leaves Simon Cowell and Demi Lovato as the only judges until replacements are found.
Spears appeared at the Fox network's upfront presentation in New York City in May 2011 along with Lovato for a formal announcement about the duo joining the show. She went on to mentor the teens in which Carly Rose Sonenclar was the first runner up for the Season which wrapped in December.
Spears is reported to be currently in the studio working on a new album.
