Britney Spears and Jason Trawick have decided to spit up and end their one-year engagement, however, they vowed to remain friends.
In a statement released late on Friday, the couple confirmed their break up to the media. "Britney Spears and Jason Trawick have mutually agreed to end their one-year engagement," Britney's rep told People magazine, "As two mature adults, they came to the difficult decision to go their separate ways while continuing to remain friends."

In the statement, Britney was herself quoted as saying, "Jason and I have decided to call off our engagement. I'll always adore him and we will remain great friends." Meanwhile, Jason, 40, gave his own revelation, adding that, "As this chapter ends for us a new one begins. I love and cherish her and her boys and we will be close forever."
In an earlier report, TMZ first announced the breakup and revealed that a source claims the split happened because Britney and Jason "grew apart." Also, Jason apparently did not want to announce the split before he was removed as Britney's co-conservator. He has now been removed, and Britney's dad is the sole conservator once again.

Interestingly enough, Britney recently changed agencies, indicating that Jason would no longer be managing her career affairs. Additionally, the 31-year-old mom of two just quit her gig as a judge on "The X Factor" today.
