Kate Middleton, Prince William and Prince Harry arrived at the New Zealand High Commission in London, Friday, to sign a book of condolences for the recent Christchurch earthquake. Prince William and Miss Middleton had been in Scotland earlier in the day, so the book-signing marked the third engagement in two days for the future princess, visiting all three states of mainland Great Britain -- Wales, Scotland and England. This was likely no accident.

The three paid their respects to over 100 victims of the second major earthquake to hit New Zealand in the last few months. Tuesday's 6.3 magnitude earthquake was technically an aftershock of the first, 7.1 magnitude quake last September, but caused more loss of life and damage. Prince William visited New Zealand in 2010.
The royal couple took over one page of the book together, with Prince William obviously coaching his future wife on book-signing etiquette; the prince signed "William," while Kate penned "Catherine Middleton" at a point duly pointed out by her fiancé. Prince Harry took his own page.
Senior members of the British royal family send sympathy to New Zealand
The three had previously sent their messages to New Zealand; Prince Charles also signed the book last Thursday and sent his own message, as did the Queen. Queen Elizabeth said that she was "utterly shocked" by the devastating earthquake. As Queen of New Zealand and Australia, she is undoubtedly moved by both countries' recent natural disasters.
Derek Leask, High Commissioner to New Zealand, welcomed the royals and said that it was touching they wanted to express their sympathy. Deputy High Commissioner, Belinda Brown, also welcomed Prince Harry, Prince William and Kate Middleton and conversed with them awhile afterwards.
