British Playwright Mike Bartlett presents Cock at Main Stage Theatre

Chicago is a melting pot of radical speech, living and hope. Its no wonder the play Cock is making its Midwest debut in Chicago at the Main Stage Theatre. Cock is a play by Michael Bartlett, artistic director Darell Cox, about a man's struggle to choose to love a man from a previous relationship or the woman he loves now. Bartlett takes you on a ride to discover the ins and outs of making choices of the heart, untangling confusing lusts and joy.

Cock originally appeared in London's Royal Court Theatre with a sell out season in 2009 winning the 2010 Lawrence Olivier Award for Outstanding Achievement in an Affiliate Theatre and Best Play in the Evening Standard Theatre Awards. Its U.S debut in 2012 also won awards nominations for the play and its playwright Mike Barnett for outstanding new off Broadway play from the Outer Critics Circle awards and the Lucille Lortel Awards in 2013. Mike Bartlett has been honing his craft and receiving the accolades since 2007 as a resident playwright at the Royal Court Theatre and currently as Associate Playwright at the Paines Plough.

Tickets for Cock at the Alley Stage Theatre are $35 each, performances are Thursday through sunday til April 6, 2014 evening performances.
