A new educational pamphlet, called, "Pleasure," has been released by Britain's National Health Service that takes sex education to a whole new level and is causing a stir amongst some of the educators. It takes on a whole new approach by not only warning of the consequences of a sexual lifestyle, but by promoting sexual activity as healthy and pleasurable.
Some educators are welcoming the literature as a tool that will help teenagers understand the complexity of human relationships and resist the peer pressure to engage in sexual activities before they are emotionally ready, while others say it will have the exact opposite effect, stating that the UK is already one of the world's leaders in sexually transmitted diseases and teen pregnancy.
Steve Slack, one of the pamphlet's writers, says, "It is designed to encourage young people to delay losing their virginity until they are sure they will enjoy the experience." The headmaster of Wellington College, Anthony Seldon combats that by saying the new material will, "Impact negatively on the formation of a long-term loving relationship."
The new pamphlet is more proof of the birth pains of society that are described in Matthew 24 and furthers the deteroration of our world's moral fiber. Christians need to rise up against things such as these to fight for the future of our spiritual well-being. With all the concern on being green to save the planet for future generations, it's time to rise up and live a green walk with the Lord so our posterity will have some inkling of morality in the future. After that is accomplished, the fruits will become evident in the way we treat the rest of the planet.
