A British appeals court has overturned a ruling that blocked a planned strike by the airline's cabin crew union.  The 20 day walkout was scheduled to begin May 18, but the strike was halted by a court order.

The new ruling allows the Unite union to restart its strike plans without a new ballot of its members.  The union's initial statements following the appeal called for renewed negotiations during this "pause for peace."  But Unite later reiterated its plan to began strikes on May 24. No word from the airline on the prospect of new talks, although BA has reinstated its planned flight reduction schedule for May 24-28.

The original strike dates included 20 days of strikes, spread out over:

    •    May 18-22
    •    May 24-28,
    •    May 30-June 3, and
    •    June 5-9.

The travelers industry is braced for renewed strikes beginning on May 24.  Schedules and information can be found on the British Airways website and travelers should check for updates frequently.
