British Airways first Austin-London nonstop Dreamliner service starts today

March 3, 2014 - At 5:00 pm CST a British Airways Boeing 787 Dreamliner, call sign “Speedbird” touched down at Austin Bergstrom-International Airport today. The inaugural first flight will depart at 8:00 pm to London Heathrow airport.

The new service will connect Austin and London and will mark the first regular transatlantic flight service out of Austin.

The new service will feature three cabins: Club World, World Traveler Plus; and World Traveler. The cabins feature stylish new interiors with state of the art entertainment systems. Meals will also be provided as well as snacks and beverages and a full service bar.

The initial economic impact will be $69.7 million in the first year and then expected to grow to $74 million annually within the first three years.
