Even though Susan Boyle may no longer be a part of "Britain's Got Talent," she is certainly not forgotten. For evidence of that, all you have to do is check out two clips from Saturday night's episode.
In the first, we have an opportunity to meet Kerry Anne Boyle. Notice the last name? You should. Kerry is the second cousin to the "I Dreamed a Dream" singer, and she probably spent a little too much time name-dropping and not enough time practicing her vocals. Granted, she was decent enough to be put through by Piers Morgan and Amanda Holden, but her voice and stage presence aren't anywhere near what we saw from Susan last year.
Meanwhile, the show also presented one of its most-hyped acts of the season in 80-year-old Janey Cutler. Cutler was a bit more impressive, since her voice was more powerful and she also just seemed to be so genuinely happy to be there. Her song choice ("No Regrets") didn't have the same emotion to it as "I Dreamed a Dream," but her story gives her the potential to be the internet sensation of the season (even if she probably won't measure up to Susan in terms of a fan following).

Janey is superb. Very adorable. And I would just like to say I really enjoy your column, You do an excellent job.
Janey was certainly very good and amazing for a woman of her age. However, they are doing her a disservice comparing her to Susan Boyle. Janey herself said she wanted to be herself, not another anybody and of course no amount of hype is going to make her audition into something it is not........an overnight phenomenon. Miss Boyle's audition has over 300 million views. That is not going to happen again, and that should be ok. I wish everyone would stop comparing performers to Susan Boyle and just comment on their individual talents.
FYI- Janey has gotten over 1 million hits in 3 days.
