Early in the festivities, Elle Goulding was awarded best female artist. This beloved British crooner beat out a lot of talent in the form of Birdy, Jessie J, Laura Marling, and Laura Mvula.
Meanwhile, the 27-year-old singer showed up on the red carpet looking a bit like a Barbie Doll, according to a portion of the British press.
The pop star was wearing a pink creation that looked a bit rumbled and her hair hung in a side braid, otherwise known as a lose fishtail plait, that brushed against the bodice.
Fast forward to the actual show where Elle changed clothes and where Arctic Monkeys won as best British group. Among other groups, One Direction was a contender and the group for whom the lads of Actic Monkeys acknowledged in their acceptance speech.
And so, as the BRIT Awards proceed with live steaming, Elle Goulding and Arctic Monkeys win in the early categories exposed.
