Last week it was announced that Bristol Palin will be shakin' her groove thing on the upcoming season of Dancing with the Stars, and while many were probably asking themselves, "Why, why, why? Oh dear God, why?," she now reveals the answer. It's for the baby mamas.
"I'm not the first mom to participate on Dancing with the Stars... and like those who came before me, I want to set a good example for all of the amazing moms out there, " Palin told Radar Online. "Yes, we can balance work and family, and we can also take on a new and exciting challenge."
The 19-year-old, who shares custody of her son Tripp with the class act known as Levi Johnston, confirms that the toddler will live with her in Los Angeles while the show is filming. And as an aside, Johnston is currently busy shooting his own reality show... so we have that to look forward to, as well.
"I'm excited!," she says of the impending competition and life away from home. "It feels great to step outside of my comfort zone and take on a new challenge."
Facing off against the likes of Brandy Norwood, David Hasselhoff and Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino (among others), Palin will be taking on that challenge with dance partner Mark Ballas, previously responsible for leading both Kristi Yamaguchi and Shawn Johnson to victory. The 10th season of Dancing with the Stars premieres Monday, September 20.
