Bringing the beach into your bathroom

See also

Summer is here and its not going anywhere. The best parts of summer are trips to the beach, losing track of time, and bad tan lines. However, there are times when we have to return to reality, but our watches are still on ocean time. Bottle up that feeling and bring a little beach into the bathroom to keep your mindset intact. Caress body wash in Emerald Rush ($5) is a fresh scent, like an ocean breeze. After lathering and drying off, the Desert Essence Coconut Hand and Body Lotion ($8) is a nourishing moisturizer that has bottled the essence of the beach with a cold, refreshing drink in hand. To add that sun-kissed glow reach for Honey Bronze Shimmering Dry Oil ($22) from The Body Shop. The oil helps to lock in moisture, while leaving skin with a bronzed shimmer. It smells delightful from the blend of honey and monoi. For an at home self tan that looks professional, Bliss’ A Tan for All Seasons ($36) is a self tanning mist that is a quick dry aerosol that has an instant bronze. It’s perfect because it shows where you need to apply or rub in better. Don’t forget to wash your hands after application. Highlight your face with Laura Geller’s Baked Elements Bronzer ($35), which comes in various shades depending on skin tone. Apply where the sun hits for a natural, tan look. Finish your body off with a fresh summer scent from Demeter. They have Ocean and Salt Air ($20), allowing for the beach to travel to the most land locked of places. Like all Demeter fragrances these two are simple. Ocean is a mix of salt, sand, and sand. The salt air is a fresh, tropical sea breeze.

Finish the beach look with the perfect beach wave. Bottling ocean water would be hard and heavy, but there are wonderful products to mimic the salty air that works magic on your hair. Philip B’s Maui Wowie ($22) is a volumizing and thickening beach mist. It is great for fine hair that often can look limp from other salt sprays. It also has various oils as to nit dry out the hair. There is also Alterna’s Bamboo Summer Ocean Waves ($22). It is a citrusy paraben, sulfate free spray for touseled summer waves. If your hair is already dry. Blow Pro’s Textstyle is a dry texturizing spray to give lifeless hair a bit of style and edge. To up the beach factor after spraying hair, go through with the T3 Single Pass Whirl ($130) to tighten up beach waves. After curling, run fingers through for a piecy wave. For a wider, even looser wave T3’s Body Waver ($150) has a wide barrel to help give hair a light bounce. Keep the beach close by this summer and all other seasons going forward.
