This year Bumbershoot's Youngershoot Kids Zone — curated by the Seattle Children’s Museum — makes its debut in the Alki Court, next to the SIFF Film Center and The Vera Project. With this move, those ten and younger as well as their families can take advantage of Seattle Center’s DuPen Fountain cooling off and splashing around while partaking of water-themed activities like scientific “sink or float” experiments. Also families can enjoy the short film series Films4Families, theatrical events like Alligators & Debutantes and musical acts such as Los Lobos, The Head and the Heart, Gregory Porter, and Jonathan Richman.

Also, kids can engage with a range of arts-based activities from the Museum’s Imagination Studio Exhibit (http://thechildrensmuseum.org/imagination-studio) including painting stations, building and architectural activities that draw inspiration from Seattle’s iconic architecture, and collaborative recycled art Thanks to partnerships with Seattle Symphony, Pacific Science Center, and School of Rock, there will be activities available to engage to spark creativity offered throughout the day.

Youngershoot Kids Zone is open from 11am to 6pm. Check out Bumbershoot's Tips for Families for additional information on how to have the most family-friendly fun at the festival.
