Mimi Sagadin, who plays Corrie Ten Boom in Return to the Hiding place, writes, "You can finally reserve your tickets to see Return to the Hiding Place on the weekend of May 23rd!!! In order for us to go to your city, we MUST have 500 tickets reserved in the *next few weeks* so that we can secure a screen. That's super easy to do if you share it with your family and friends! This is a new and innovative way for independent films to pre-sell tickets to guarantee a theater screening. Go right now to reserve your tickets at http://seatzy.com/main/moviedetail/return-to-the-hiding-place. (Your card won't be charged until we've got the theater booked.) I can't wait for you to see it! Thank you so much for all your patience and support during post-production. May you be blessed by this film that I was honored to be a part of."
Return to the Hiding Place (2013), http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1691153/combined, follows up the story of the Hiding Place (1975), http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0073109/combined. Both movies are based on true stories of the Dutch Resistance to the Nazi control of Holland in WWII. It has been written and directed by Peter Spencer of San Antonio, TX.
In The Hiding Place, Corrie and Betsie ten Boom are unmarried, middle-aged sisters working in their father's watchmaker shop in pre-WWII Holland. Their lives are cruelly turned upside down with the invasion of the Nazis. They are caught for protecting Jews in a hiding place in their family home and for breaking rationing rules. They are sent to a horrible concentration camp, but their Christian faith sustains and helps them resist bitterness. Betsie dies, but Corrie survives to teach others to love and forgive, as she learned to do of her former captors.
In Return to the Hiding Place, Dutch Resistance fighter Hans Poley in World War II, finds refuge at the ten Boom house. Hans defies new Nazi rules and escapes with his life. He finds the ten Boom house secretly filled with Jewish refugees. He becomes a part of Corrie ten Boom’s young resistance army. He gets a false identity and joins the Dutch Resistance. As the Nazis commit mounting atrocities, the danger for Hans and his new compatriots increasingly intensifies. When another resistance fighter, Piet Hartog, sees the savage cruelties committed against the Jews, he also becomes part of Corrie ten Boom young army. He joins young physics student and resistance journalist, Hans Poley, in numerous risky resistance adventures to rescue Jewish people, including children.
