Bring out your inner warrior

Athlete Training Cleveland presents Shaolin Warrior Athlete Training (SWAT), a new program that takes concepts from over 1500 years past into the world of modern day athletics.

Program creator Sifu Edward Niam explains, “Shaolin Warrior Athlete Training moves athletes of any age and skill set to the next level. You will become stronger, faster, smarter, more coordinated and develop razor sharp focus. Increased energy levels and endurance will give you the edge needed to rise above the average and move to the ranks of the elite.”

According to Niam, this training philosophy can trace its roots to more than 1500 years ago with the creation of the Shaolin Temple. The Shaolin were well known for their mastery of a broad range of physical and mental skills putting them in a class considered “elite” by any standards. “We are pleased to present to modern day athletes the training techniques utilized by some of the greatest warriors who ever lived,” he states.

Niam’s SWAT training combines components of Shaolin kung fu, qi gong, tai chi and meditation to generate increases in a person’s mental, physical and emotional development. According to Niam, SWAT training will help athletes:

  • Improve strength and endurance;
  • Increase bone density;
  • Improve balance and flexibility;
  • Strengthen joints;
  • Sharpen focus and awareness;
  • Release energy blocks;
  • Create a powerful mind/body connection;
  • Discover of the power and control of chi/vital energy;
  • Reduce the risk of sports injuries;
  • Develop internal power to overcome brute force; and
  • Neutralize the advantage of a larger, stronger opponent.

In this training, participants will also learn meditation in order to connect with everyone and everything; develop a deeper knowledge of self in order to understand others, and utilize visualization techniques to enhance training results.

Niam adds, “We specialize in working with college football players to enhance their mental and physical talents as they prepare for Pro Day and the NFL Combine.”
