Brigitte Gabriel challenges Americans to fight radical Islam (part two)

 In Part One of our exclusive interview with Brigitte Gabriel, the author and founder of ACT! for America told her amazing personal story of growing up as a Christian in war-torn Lebanon and being terrorized by Muslim jihadists.

She also talked about her career as a top news anchor in the Middle East, and her failed attempts to work for the U.S. government as a translator and terror expert.

In this installment, Part Two, Brigitte Gabriel offers her opinion on how best to fight the Islamic jihad against the West, and tells us what she thinks of President Obama's strategy for winning that fight.

EXAMINER: As far as fighting jihad, can you give us your views on how to win this fight, both at home and abroad?

BG: Both our leaders and citizens must shed political correctness and start identifying our enemy. You cannot win a war if you do not know who you are fighting. In order to devise and implement the right strategies and tactics to win this war it is necessary to identify each element of the opposition and define its role in this war.

They are (1) the devout Muslims, as they are typically the most radical;

(2) Muslim front organizations that work to silence any critique or criticism of Islam;

(3) enablers of Islamic education, those who write, supply and finance educational materials that have seeped into higher education and public schools and that whitewash the violent and conquering nature of Islam;

(4) hate-mongers, those who, in Western mosques and madrassas, advocate violence, terror, and the overthrow of constitutional law and democracy; and

(5) the PC propaganda machine, the purveyors of political correctness in the West.

Understanding the truth about militant Islam and jihad and being able to accurately identify the enemy combatants are the first weapons of our warfare. You cannot successfully fight what you do not see or understand.

The second weapon is to recognize and comprehend both the strengths and the weaknesses inherent in democratic societies. An understanding of our strengths reveals to us strategies we can use to fight back, and an understanding of our weaknesses reveals what our enemies can and will exploit, if we allow them. One of the greatest strengths of a free society is the marketplace of ideas. We have the ability to mobilize and democratically exercise our right to vote into government those whom we feel can protect our country and expel those who do not.

EXAMINER: What are your thoughts about the war in Iraq and the establishment of democracy in Iraq? When critics claim that democracy is incompatible with Islam, how do you respond?

BG: Going to war in Iraq was a necessary evil that the United States had to face.

We didn't go into Iraq with the intention of bringing democracy into Iraq. We went into the country to remove a dictator whom we suspected with good reason that he was developing nuclear and biological bombs. He had already used biological weapons against his own people. Israel blew up his first nuclear reactor in 1981 which was supplied to him by France. We knew that Saddam Hussein was up to no good and had to make a move.

However once we were there, the next step was giving the Iraqi people the freedom to get their voice heard through democratic process after being oppressed by a dictator. The plan was that if we can bring democracy to Iraq that will empower other people in surrounding countries to want to move in the same direction. The problem is, it worked like a charm. Through democratic process we now have Hamas in Gaza and Hezbollah in Lebanon both elected democratically by the general public.

Islam, as spelled out in its holy books and the jurisprudence of its historical scholars, is not compatible with democracy.  This is why Islamic nations refuse to sign the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights, because Islam is a supremacist totalitarian political ideology that controls every detail of a Muslim's life does not allow for equal rights.  Women in Islam have virtually no rights and are not considered equal under the Islamic law. 

Islam might be compatible with democracy if its adherents reject or ignore the political doctrines of Islam, but as we are seeing in Turkey this is becoming increasingly difficult.  While we liberated Iraq and helped them write a constitution to govern the nation, Sharia law was introduce into the constitution as the acceptable justice and legal system. Sharia Islamic law overrules any man-made laws introduced in the new Iraqi constitution. Eight women who protested this Islamic law were beheaded in Mosul. Islamic law and democracy in the sense of the western democracy we are interested in are not compatible.

EXAMINER: Do you have confidence in Obama's ability to fight and win against the Islamists?

BG: No. I have no confidence in President Obama to fight and win against the Islamists.

I have seen Obama make one mistake after another in dealing or trying to reach out to the Muslim world starting with his interview on Al-Arabiya TV. He feels that if he apologizes for what he perceives as America's ills that this somehow is going to bring around those who wish our destruction.

The problem is the more he talks this way the more empowered our enemy is because they feel they have someone they can manipulate and deceive while continuing in the path of achieving their goal. So far Iran has not only snubbed him but asked for an apology immediately after his interview to Al-Arabiya. Pakistan establishes Sharia law in a deal with the Taliban in Swat Valley. Al-Qaida operatives are more empowered than ever after orders to close Gitmo and bring terrorists here to America with full rights. The list goes on and on with international ramifications for every decision.

What I am concerned about is that while Obama is going to waste precious time trying to appeal to Iran and negotiate with them, Iran is going to use his gullibility to finish their nuclear bomb. Deceit is the art of war in Islam with standards set by the Prophet Mohammed in the treaty of Al-Hudaibya which I discuss in detail in my book, They Must Be Stopped: Why We Must Defeat Radical Islam and How We Can Do It . While the Islamists are going to use Taqiyyah (the law of deceit in Islam) to buy time until they accomplish their goal President Obama is going to move forward in his appeal feeling so good about himself. Hopefully he will wake up before it is too late.
