Bright colored pants and shoes for spring

Bright colors to ring in spring! Add color now without sacrificing warmth as Minnesotan spring makes its way to us.
Lived-in Khakis, gap.com

While there are still plenty of snow piles on the ground as February ticks over into March here in Minnesota, the spring fashions are starting to come out in stores and online. As temperatures warm above 30 degrees, some of us even subscribe to the idea that injecting some elements of spring into our style might just make spring come faster!

One of the easiest ways to do that (and get a nice little mental boost) without freezing your butt off is to add a pop of bright color. Luckily for you, men of Minnesota, current trends make it accessible and simple to do.

Retailers are showing off brightly colored khakis and shorts in their new line-ups. You'll probably want to stick with the pants for now ... Keep it office-appropriate by pairing with a more neutral blazer and button down. Or, mix it in with a casual grey sweater for the weekend. The key to nailing this look is balance.

We are a fan of these lived-in straight khakis from Gap, which are budget friendly at $60. If you're looking for something slightly slimmer cut (and bold enough to try cuffing them), consider these Dockers (available through Piperlime for $59).

If the pants are a bit much, feel free to start smaller. We're also loving primary color suede chukkas, like these Great Jones Chukkas from Cole Haan ($228).
