A woman was raped during a home invasion last week in Athens – and police on Thursday have released a sketch of the suspect they said assaulted the woman.

So far, police have not identified the suspect and they are hoping someone may recognize and help capture him.

The assault happened between 2:30 and 5 a.m. last Friday at a home in the east side of Athens, according to Athens-Clarke County police.

The victim told police that the offender knocked at her door, and when she opened it, he forced his way into her residence, police spokeswoman Hilda Sorrow said. Police have not released any details on whether the suspect was armed and if the victim received any other injuries.

The suspect is described as a black man, 5 feet, 9 inches to 6 feet tall with a baldhead that police said is shiny on top. He is believed to be in his 30s with a “muscular but overweight” build and a moustache.

Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest of the offender. Man, 20, Charge in March Murder

A 26-year-old Marietta man was shot to death last month in Marietta and police on Thursday said the suspected killer was arrested in Florida. Still, so far they have not released a motive for the murder.

Nehemiah Anglin, 20, was charged with murder in the death of Damion Wright who was shot in March, according to Marietta police.

Shortly after the shooting, detectives identitified Anglin as a suspect and learned he had possibly fled the state to avoid capture, police spokesman Officer David Baldwin said. Anglin was arrested without incident in Miami, Fla. by the United States Marshals Fugitive Task Force with the assistance of the Cobb County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Unit.

Another suspect, 22-year-old Daniel Squires, of Marietta, was also charged previously with the March 27 murder of Wright, Baldwin said.

Wright was found shot just after midnight that Thursday in the parking lot of the Pointes of Marietta apartment complex at 1375 Cunningham Road, Baldwin said. He was transported to Kennestone Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Anglin will be extradited to Cobb County for prosecution, Baldwin said. But he did not provide a possible date for the extradition.
