A 34-year-old man was arrested Thursday morning after he was allegedly caught performing a sex act on a sidewalk in Athens.

Quinton Loreno Moore, 34, was charged with indecent exposure, according to the Athens-Clarke County police.

The alleged incident happened around 10 a.m. in the 100 block of West Hancock Avenue, police spokeswoman Ms. Hilda Sorrow said.

Officers responded to the location after getting at least one complaint about the man, who is reportedly homeless, Sorrow said. Witnesses told police that the man was sitting on the sidewalk, wrapped in a blanket, masturbating, she said.

Officers located the suspect near Hull Street and, after questioning him, they arrested and charged him with the alleged crime, Sorrow said.

Motorcyclist Killed and Bike Splits into Two in High-Speed Wreck

A motorcyclist was killed and his bike split into two late Thursday night after he crashed into a utility pole at a high rate of speed, police said Friday.

The incident happened shortly before 11:40 p.m. when the victim was riding a 2012 Yamaha YZFR1BB on Hood Road near the intersection of Remington Court, according to Lilburn police.
Officers responded to the scene and found 34-year-old Troy Hermandson dead, police spokesman Capt. Thom Bardugon said.

“(The) initial investigation reveals that the driver lost control while operating the vehicle at a high rate of speed, left the roadway and struck a mailbox before striking a power pole,” Bardugon said. “There are no known eye witnesses but at least one neighbor heard “an explosion”, which was the motorcycle striking the power pole. The force of the impact caused the motorcycle to split in two.”

Investigators are working to determine the speed of the vehicle at the time of the wreck, Bardugon said. Also, the GBI will be performing tests to determine if Hermandson was under the influence at the time of the wreck, he said.
