An Atlanta teenager with a new driver's license trying to navigate Spaghetti Junction or the Downtown Connector is something that makes me cringe. It's difficult enough to survive on the side streets getting to and from work or school.
Bridgestone is a company that recognizes that teens might need a little extra instruction or practice to give them more confidence and experience out on the roads. So they are bringing their free advanced skills training course to Six Flags Whitewater on Cobb Parkway on October 12 and 13.
For many new drivers, especially in Atlanta, the feel for a car’s power and control isn’t learned at a school's driver's education class, it's learned on the road by "doing."
Teen drivers in Atlanta get this unique opportunity to learn, practice and get educated on driving skills in a safe closed-course. Many of the instructors are race car drivers. The free, half-day workshop is all about making the correct decisions on the road.
The teens will be behind the wheel of new BMWs for this class. The day also includes classroom instruction.
