Bridgeport Bluefish defeat York Revolution 4-0 in series opener

The Bridgeport Bluefish defeated the York Revolution 4-0 in the series opener on Tuesday night at Santander Stadium.

Bluefish Pitcher Tomo Ohka kept the York Revolution to just three hits for the night, striking out five batters. It was the first time that a Bridgeport starting pitcher held on past the sixth inning in the starting weeks of the season.

Bridgeport had 5 hits all before the 7th inning but it wasn't until the 8th inning that Richard stole third and both him and Martinez scored on Luis Lopez’s single, giving the Bluefish a 2-0 lead. In the top of the ninth, catcher J.R. Towles hit a two-run home run to give Bridgeport a 4-0 lead and final score.

Bridgeport continue their three game series against York tonight with first pitch at 6:30pm.The Bluefish will return home to face Long Island on Tuesday May 13th at 7:05pm.
