Side note: this website once pulled a post by this column entitled: Chris Christie is a Big, Fat Bully.
Libel? How so?
At this point in time, our nation needs to look into the hearts and characters of the people they put into office.
Does someone kick dogs and steal money? Not good. Does said person kick poor folks and take money from lobbyists- don’t give any such person a gerrymandered seat.
Back to Christie. This column did not join the stream of people of all stripes lauding the man who cannot control his mouth. No this isn’t a fat reference. Christie does not appear able to dialogue with anyone who disagrees with him or even obliquely challenges a view or policy posited by the Governor.
He shouts people, citizens, his constituents, down. They cannot be heard over the roar of Christie bellowing.
Fat. Check. Bully. Check.
Now, it seems as if someone ordered that access lanes from the town of Fort Lee to the George Washington Bridge, the busiest span in the world, be winnowed down from three to one. For four consecutive days.
Chaos and gridlock ensued but thankfully not tragedy. Traffic was so backed up that first responders had difficulty maneuvering around Fort Lee.
The Democratic Mayor of this town had refused to endorse Christie for re-election in his 3.5 million dollar* landslide.
(* Liberals say 3.5 million and conservatives allege $12 million.)
3.5 million dollars you ask. The cost of making Joisey voters go to the polls twice within three weeks so a popular Democratic candidate did not siphon any votes away from Christie. That popular Dem is Cory Booker who won in a walk, three weeks before Christie’s election. He was running for a different job- US Senator- but he could have drawn voters who would have voted the straight party ticket if he was on the ballot with the sitting Governor.
(And when Christie sits around the statehouse, he sits around the statehouse.)
Back to topic.
Did Christie order the cruel and insane lane closures that generated traffic jams in Fort Lee affecting many of his constituents? As revenge against the mayor of the town?
Because that should disqualify him from any public sector job.
Lets ask him. He seems very easy to chat with….
And now for a musical interlude...
