Bridal blue - plate special

That is the term Dr. Louis DeJoseph of Premier Image Cosmetic Surgery used for my recent procedure. This is a non invasive procedure that Dr. DeJoseph does for brides and mothers in order to get them camera ready for the BIG day. His blue-plate special typically consists of a little Botox to open the eyes and a bit of filler around the mouth and nasolabial folds to soften, there is no cutting involved and the best thing is, it won't break the bank.


Now, I'm certainly not a bride but am the mother of the groom as my son will get married October 10, 2010.   Dr. DeJoseph told me to come in a month before the wedding and he would get me picture ready.

Last week I went in for my blue plate special. First I had a healthy dose of numbing cream administered to my forehead and around the mouth area. Then Dr. DeJoseph explained that he would put a little Botox above each eye and at the corners of the eye; this would open the eyes just a bit and keep me from squinting during the outdoor photos, "when everyone is struggling to keep from squinting, you will look wide eyed and relaxed."

Next came a bit of Restylane administered in the nasolabial folds, corners of mouth and a bit in the upper lip to "pop" out the tiny lip lines. It did not hurt at all and Dr. D. assured me that I would NOT look like a duck, he would only inject directly under the skin to take away those pesky little lines.  I was a bit apprehensive at first but as he predicted, It worked perfectly.

A few days later a friend commented that I looked great, maybe even a little thinner, she couldn't quite put her finger on it.... hmmm, looks like that blue plate special was well worth it!  Thanks Dr. DeJoseph!
