Whether you’re a longtime LEGO brick fan or are just getting into the hobby, Brickworld Chicago 2014 offers enthusiasts a chance to meet, mingle and learn new ways to build. The annual event is open to the public June 14 and 15, 2014, and will be held at the Renaissance Convention Center (1551 N. Thoreau Dr., Schaumburg).
Brickworld Chicago 2014 features an assortment of LEGO builders showing their latest creations. In previous years, displays have included mosaics, castles, towns and more, all made from LEGO bricks. Visitors to the event can meet with the builders and are invited to ask questions about the displays. Participants exhibiting creations can range from first-time builders to those who have been building with LEGO bricks for decades. Group displays are also a popular feature of Brickworld and include the works of several builders.
Interactive activities are also planned during the exhibit, allowing visitors to get a hands-on approach. LEGO brick-related vendors will also be on hand.
Tickets to the event can be purchased in advance or at the door. Discounts are available for members of the military and first responders, and children ages three and under have free admission. For more information on admission prices, consult the convention’s website.
Last year’s Brickworld convention was included in the documentary “Beyond The Brick: A Lego Documentary.”
