Brick House cigar band
  • Length: 6 inches
  • Ring Gauge: 52
  • Wrapper: Havana Subido™
  • Binder: Nicaraguan
  • Filler: Nicaraguan

BBrick House Toro vitolarick House is the second frontmark that has been revived by J.C. Newman. Originally made as a Cuban Puro, the new blend is Nicaraguan. Brick House is the second collaboration between J.C. Newman and Fabrica de Tabacos San Rafael S.A.

Brick House is available in four sizes: Robusto 5x54, Toro 6x52, Corona Larga 6.25x46 and Churchill 7.25x50. The Toro's retail for $5.25 and the Corona Larga's retail for $4.75. I did not see pricing for the other vitolas.

Compared to El Baton, Brick House is a little milder, I would say a medium bodied cigar. The taste is earthy, with a good dose of pepper thrown in. With the first third, the pepper is prevalent. Going into the 2nd third and continuing till the end, the cigar kicks back and there are woody flavors and some sweetness mixed in.

The Havana Subido™ wrapper is smooth and very rich looking. The cigar felt firm to the touch. The burn was razor sharp with a light grey ash. The ash was well formed and held on for a good inch and a half.

I heard many positive comments from others at the shop I was in. The local representative had brought along seven boxes and several bundles. By the end of the evening, there were only a handful left. I think this will become a popular seller, especially at the price points I saw.

The first shipment of Brick House arrives Friday, September 25th. Look for it at your local shops soon.

I bought one today hoping for a great smoke. the draw was weak meaning if i didn't puff on it every 10 seconds it would go out. It burned uneven to the point of watching the ash split 75 25 off the start an inch and a half down. the taste was acceptable but not premium. I thought it would settle down midway and finsish nicely but again i was disappointed. the cigar looked likek a candy shovel. I trashed it 3/4 into it.

Mike, yours is the very first negative comment I've heard about a Brick House cigar. I've have smoked quite a few of them and I've never had an issue. Before you write it off, I'd try another. Perhaps from a different tobacco shop.
