The event takes place from Sept. 25 to Sept. 28, 2014 featuring a host of intriguing options for guests, including guided culinary and outdoor adventure tours; an evening event at the landmark Hearst Castle; regional wine and food tastings; and cooking demonstrations presented by celebrity chefs Tanya Holland and Fabio Viviani, plus expert commentary from Sunset magazine editors.
Sunset in the Vineyard
Speaking of talent, the legendary composer, arranger and producer will be performing some of his hits with his Beach Boys bandmate Al Jardine at Sunset in the Vineyard at Vina Robles. “Sloop John B.,” and the 1965 smash hit, “Help Me, Rhonda” will be among the numbers that never fail to get audiences' spirits lifted.
The first 400 guests through the gate when the doors open at 6 p.m. for the 7:30 start will receive a free Torani picnic blanket. Or, for $36, guests can reserve an exclusive SAVOR picnic basket for two in advance, featuring delicious wine country delicacies, a custom blanket and gifts that can be enjoyed on the grass overlooking the stage. Basket buyers can also save $8 on a purchase of Vina Robles wine at the bar.
"We are really excited that Brian Wilson will be joining us for the Saturday night concert for Sunset SAVOR the Central Coast,” said Stacie Jacob, CEO of Visit San Luis Obispo County. “Brian Wilson is truly one of music's most deeply revered figures, and the main creative force behind some of the most cherished recordings in rock history. We’re honored to offer this exclusive opportunity to experience his music in a spectacular vineyard setting in Paso Robles."
Brian Wilson update
Busier than ever at 72, Wilson's next solo album features up-and-coming country star Kacey Musgraves and alternative-pop performers Lana Del Rey and Zooey Deschanel. Wilson will also be in the spotlight at the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival in early September when "Love and Mercy," the much-anticipated biographical film with Paul Dano and John Cusack acting as the younger and older Brian Wilson, makes its world debut.
