Brian Williams is reportedly angry with NBC after they moved his show, "Rock Center with Brian Williams" to Friday nights. On Feb. 14, The Inquisitr reported that Williams' show was moved from Wednesday nights to Thursday nights and that its new time slot on Friday nights probably isn't the best move.
"NBC brass might have upset Williams with the move … He closed Rock Center on Feb. 8 with a segment characterizing Friday as its 'latest resting place.' Sources at NBC News say Williams was angered that Burbank execs did not give the show the promised promotion, while plans to expand it to multiple weekly airings have been abandoned," The Hollywood Reporter wrote.
Brian Williams could be angry with NBC because he feels as though his show isn't the reason for the network's sudden drop in ratings. NBC went from being the number one watched network to the fourth, falling behind the rest of the network giants last month. With many of the network's most popular shows on hiatus (like "The Voice"), many people find themselves tuning in elsewhere.
CBS has series gold with "The Big Bang Theory" and ABC's "The Bachelor" is always a hit. A lot of people may also be tuning in to "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" which now rivals NBC's "The Tonight Show" with Jay Leno. However, the NBC lineup shake-up may have really bothered Brian Williams -- at least that's what some believe.
Should Brian Williams be angry with NBC? Will "Rock Center" be canceled?
*Update*
"Rock Center" executive producer Alexandra Wallace has spoken out about Brian's comment. Here's what she had to say: "Brian’s take on our new time slot was truly funny and the furthest thing from 'angry.' He made light of our travels through the schedule -- and we are all thrilled by 'Rock Center’s' strong ratings after our Friday night debut. We look forward to settling down in our new home."
