According to an article Thursday on ProBoxingInsider.com, MMA fighter King Mo, and boxer Brian Vera were spotted watching fights together in Las Vegas. The pair have been close for a couple years now, often helping each other prepare for their battles inside the ring or cage.
Vera will be involved in the biggest fight of his career later in the month when he takes on Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. who is looking to come back from both a loss to Sergio Martinez, as well as a failed drug test following that bout. While he may be a significant underdog, both Vera and Mo believe that it is Brian Vera who will come out of that fight with his hand raised.
The fight has already been delayed a couple times after the Chavez camp claimed that he suffered a cut to his eye during training. Brian Vera disputes that, as do many boxing observers, believing that the real reason for the delays is because Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. is having a tough time making weight.
On Sept. 28 boxing fans will discover whether or not Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. is back and better than ever, or if Brian Vera can once again surprise those who are not giving him a chance, and move on to a possible shot at a title.
