Brian the dog is coming back just in time for Christmas, this is the latest from the
“Family Guy” animated TV show. Did the “Family Guy” writers see the error of their ways after having the beloved family pet Brian Griffin get clipped by a car and dying on the vet’s table?
According to 14U News on Dec. 7, the uproar over Brian the dog’s death never calmed down, as fans of the show really missed Brian. A replacement dog was instantly inserted into the “Family Guy,” but it wasn’t Brian, folks wanted Brian back.
So how does the “Family Guy” bring Brian back from the dead? Well, this is a cartoon where dog's talk, so it’s not as if the writers need to keep the resurrection of the family pet reality based.
Apparently Stewie “devises a master plan to get the one and only thing he wants for Christmas and that is his beloved pet Brian. Why did the “Family Guy” put Brian down in the first place? According to creators of the show, they thought that putting the dog down would be easier for the audience than if they killed off one of the kids. They've didn't address why anyone would need to die at all!
The “Family Guy” creators were totally surprised by the reaction from fans over Brian’s demise. The show's replacement dog was given the name of Vinnie, whose voice is that of “Sopranos" star Tony Sirico. Fans might remember him as Pauly Walnuts with the wing-tipped hair.
As far as Brian’s return, it is not known if this is permanent or just a one-time deal. The Dec. 15, “Family Guy” episode titled “Christmas Guy” is when Brian will make his return, to the delight of the fans and of course Stewie.
