After being killed off “Family Guy” three weeks ago, Brian Griffin – the family dog – is back, according to Yahoo! News on Sunday night. This is not really a "spoiler alert" because it was reported last week that Brian was to come back.

Seth MacFarlane, the creator of the show and voice of Brian on the cartoon show, claims the return of Brian was planned all along.

Spoiler Alert: If you don't want to know how Brian was brought back before you see Sunday night's episode, stop reading now!

In Sunday’s episode, Stewie – the main character who is a little boy character – told Santa Claus at a mall that his biggest Christmas wish was to have Brian back. Via a scene with “past” Stewie and the time machine, the new dog Vinny and “past” Stewie go back in time – and this time Brian is saved from the car accident that previously killed Brian off.

When Brian got killed off, fans were very unhappy – to say the least. They even petitioned to bring the character back to the show.

MacFarlane tweeted about the return of Brian after the episode was viewed on television by saying “And this endeth our warm, fuzzy holiday lesson: Never take those you love for granted, for they can be gone in a flash.” He also messaged that he appreciates that so many people cared so much about Brian… and he says Brian is overcome with gratitude.
